About us

Darold began his career training at Gem City College, School of Horology in the fall of 1974. Here he graduated with degrees in, the Jewelry-Diamond Setting and Design Course, Clock Repairing, Watchmaking & Repairing Course.

In 1976 after graduating Darold went to work for Lee’s Jewelry in Norfolk, NE for one year.

In April 1977 Darold bought his first jewelry store in Aurora, NE. Aurora Jewelry was a full-line jewelry store with watches, jewelry, engagement sets, china, flatware and numerous gift items.

While there over the next five years Darold rebuilt, restored, and repaired over 5,000 watches, performed jewelry repair, designed jewelry and made house calls to repair many grandfather clocks.

Due to the changing farm economy in 1982, Darold decided to leave the more rural farming community when he wanted to pursue more of his desire for custom designed jewelry. In January 1982 Darold made a progressive move and brought his business to the downtown Lincoln, Centrum Mall. There his business was called Darold’s Fine Gold Designs. (now known as Energy Square)

In 1991 Darold’s Jewelers and Diamond Importers relocated to our current location at 6900 O’ Street, Meridian Park, Suite 108. This location gives store front parking with its easy walk in street level store front.

Darold was awarded First Place in a Jewelry Design completion in 1993 of members of International Jewelers Organization. Darold has made several annual trips to the diamond capital of the world in Antwerp Belgium in order to hand pick diamonds for customers. He also attends the world’s largest Gem trade show in Tucson AZ each year.

Currently Darold’s Jewelers & Diamond Importers includes many top designers as well as custom designs, created by Darold, in platinum, 14K and pladium. Our store carries Akoya Pearls, diamond and colored gem earrings & pendants, rings, William Henry Knives, writing instruments, money clips, cufflinks, and men’s jewelry line. We carry Preciosia Swarovski Crystal jewelry, and figurines.
